Mollie Anderson
Mollie Anderson has a background in education and resource recovery. She played a key role in the development of Hurunui Recycling, which manages the recycling service for the whole Hurunui District and covers administration, marketing, employment, communication and education. She also initiated a salvage and reuse store as part of Hurunui Recycling, which is rapidly becoming an integral part of the overall sustainable waste stream strategy for the Hurunui District. The Mid Canterbury WasteBusters is an environmental trust with a focus on community environmental education and Re-use Waste Materials Exchanges. Over the last 5 years they have assisted Ashburton District Council, Selwyn District Council and Canterbury Regional Council in a range of waste minimisation and education projects. Areas of expertise: Community and schools waste minimisation education programmes Ongoing development of practical rural solutions to reduce waste to landfill Organic waste demonstration site including large worm farm Reuse Waste Materials Exchange and data base, focussing on reducing business waste to landfill and ultimately reinforcing the fact that "Waste is resources waiting to be discovered"
