The Road to Zero Waste

'The Road to Zero Waste' is a guide (commissioned by the Zero Waste NZ Trust) based on the experiences of people around New Zealand who have contributed to local Zero Waste campaigns and and on the experiences of  international Zero Waste campaigners who are working for Zero Waste in their countries.

This guide is designed to assist communities develop practical strategies that will help them work towards Zero Waste. It does not attempt to provide specific "how-to" instructions or the precise details of particular technologies or processes. It provides an overview of the best information to date from New Zealand and around the world and guidance on taking the first critical steps towards Zero Waste.

There is no detailed road map yet to get to Zero Waste, however, many communities have taken the first steps and much has been learned in the process.
