Foam Do's and Dont's

The recycling of foam requires careful consideration and preparation. 

PLEASE - make sure your foam is:
  • Clean
  • Dry
  • Smaller pieces preferable to larger lumps
  • Baled or bagged
  • 3-4 m3 minimum volume for collection from a depot.
PLEASE – eliminate from your foam:
  • All metal, including staples
  • All covering fabric, upholstery, and edgings
  • Any Dacron or other textile fibres
  • Contaminants - lumps of glue, oil and grease, or anything dirty.

Some expamples of  "don’t send" foam:

 Dacron or other textile fibres      Wet foam

   Dacron or other textile fibres                           Wet foam        

Dacron fibre (horizontal white colour part) is often used for a seat       Rubber foam is heavier and usually has holes

No Dacron fibres, but foam detached              Rubber foam

from the fibre is welcome.
