NZ Recovered Materials Enterprise Trust
RMET is a community trust that operates the RecycLoans Fund, a loan fund that has been established to support the development of products and markets utilising recovered materials. Its objectives are to achieve waste reduction, job creation and community economic development. The primary client markets of RMET are individuals and small businesses who require seed capital to demonstrate the viability of a business idea featuring the reuse of materials recovered from the waste stream and may also create employment through the project. Community based trusts involved in job-creating waste reduction initiatives may also apply to the fund. Loan Objectives The loans are intended to provide applicants with an opportunity to further investigate the potential viability of their product or process. This may be done through marketing assistance, creating a business plan, prototype development, purchase of raw materials or tooling, or another type of expenditure which will assist the applicant in bringing the concept closer to marketability. Each application will be individually assessed by RMET staff and must be approved by its Board of Trustees before disbursement. Financial Support for our Work The RMET currently relies on financial support from funders and investors to enable it to carry out its mission. RMET operates a professionally managed loan fund seeking investment from local councils, businesses, foundations, government agencies, recycling and reuse practitioners and any others who wish to invest in the development of the recovered materials industry in their area. This will enhance the RMET’s ability to meet the demand for larger loans. Contact Robert Kornfeld, Manager PO Box 78 372 Grey Lynn Auckland Phone: 09 376 4166 Fax: 09 360 5187 Email:
