Zero Waste: Waste Exchanges

There are 14 waste and material exchanges located throughout New Zealand. 

The main function of these exchanges is to turn one business’ waste into another business’ resource.

There are many stories of businesses paying good money for materials that neighbouring businesses are paying to have sent to landfill.

Through networking, both businesses are able to cut costs (one purchase costs, the other disposal costs) and more materials are diverted from landfill.
