  • Canberra, Australian Capital Territory adopted a policy of No Waste by 2010 in 1996  http://www.act.gov.au/nowaste/
  • Eurobodalla Shire Council, New South Wales adopted Zero Waste by 2015 in February 2001.

  • West Australia State Government adopted a vision of ’Towards Zero Waste’ by 2020 in January 2001 http://www.environ.wa.gov.au
  • South Australia – set up Zero Waste South Australia, funded through an increase in landfill levy. Provides a new legislative framework under which the Government can work with private sector and Local Government to drive a new and integrated strategy for waste reduction in this state.
