Non-Governmental Zero Waste UK - Seven councils in the UK have now signed up to the Zero Waste Charter, launched at Westminster in June 2002. The Charter has set a target of Zero Waste by 2020 with interim targets of 50% and 75% recycling and composting by 2010 and 2015 respectively. DEMOS Study calls for national Zero Waste Fund & Agency - (1999) Cylch - Wales Community Recycling Network, promote a process of partnership between community sector organisations (not for profit) and local authorities to achieve waste reduction. Called CLEANSTREAM, this process provides a sustainable resource management system with an ultimate aim of zero waste to landfill.

London Remade is a partnership comprising the business community, London Boroughs and regional government, the waste management industry and the not for profit sector. Our aim is to revolutionise the way the Capital manages its waste through a programme designed to develop and diversify markets for recycled materials.
