Zero Waste Resources
Education Sites
Environmental Education Directory of New Zealand. The range of materials included in this directory is extensive and includes a variety of approaches for education about the environment (information about environmental phenomena), education in the environment (field studies and other outdoor activities) and education for or with the environment (activities directed at influencing environmental concerns). Environment Canterbury has produced an interactive web-based resource for children exploring a variety of waste topics. Play the Dumptown Game. As Dumptown's City Manager you can start waste minimisation programmes that encourage Dumptown's citizens and businesses to recycle and reduce waste. You can see immediately how the Dumptown landscape changes. You also get to see how much waste you are saving from going to landfill. Ollie Recycles is an Australian website for kids, all about the 3R's - "Reduce, Re-use, Recycle." It's full of games, puzzles and loads of information for school projects. This Going Green, Crafts for Kids page has several hands on crafts that children can make while learning about recycling and reusing things you already have.
Not just for college students, Pacific Lutheran University's "Great ways to go green!" article provides you with simple steps you can take to make your own life a little greener.
