Non-profitThe Recycling Operators of New Zealand (RONZ) is a non-profit networking organisation representing recycling operators, companies and organisations involved in the recycling and recovered materials industry in New Zealand. The Waste Exchange is Waikato and Bay of Plenty’s free database to help businesses swap and re-use their waste rather than dumping it in landfills. It is designed to help businesses find markets for industrial by-products, surplus materials and waste. You can register your products and be matched with others who can re-use these wastes. The Waste Management Institute of New Zealand (Waste MINZ) is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 1989 to promote sustainable waste management practices for the benefit of all New Zealanders. Their primary function is to provide a forum for presentation and dissemination of information and to act as a facilitator for the waste management industry in New Zealand. The Jobs Research Trust is an independent not-for-profit charitable trust constituted in New Zealand in 1994 with the aim of developing and distributing information that will help our communities create more jobs and reduce unemployment and poverty in New Zealand and the world. The Natural Step (TNS) is an international not-for-profit environmental education organisation working to build an ecologically and economically sustainable society. Natural capitalism works on the principle that the environment is not a minor factor of production but rather an "envelope containing, provisioning and sustaining the entire economy". Eight major organisations took up the natural capitalism challenge on behalf of New Zealand and Australian businesses. The second conference was held in July 2002 where the pilot organisations were invited to share their experiences of working towards sustainable development with delegates.
